My role as a Finance Apprentice involves me working in a specific team as part of my year placement in the Finance function. For my role in my first placement this year I have to run financial reports in order to populate data in spreadsheets and workbooks for cost control.
One of the main new skills I have learnt is the ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel in order to populate these spreadsheets and workbooks with the data I gather from the reports. By being able to use Excel well it also helps me to clearly present the data that I collect.
I am currently still in the first year of my apprenticeship and still in my first placement and since starting I have learnt many key skills which will benefit my career in the future and I have also been able to learn while working a job and earning a good salary.
Through AAT my apprenticeship structure has been very precise and clear which is good as it has helped me track the progress I make through my apprenticeship as well as see key areas that I need to learn and develop as part of completing my apprenticeship to a high standard.
Since starting my apprenticeship my employer has been very supportive towards my progress in the company as well as my progress I make through my apprenticeship. This has helped me settle in well in my organisation and make good progress through my first placement during my first year of my apprenticeship.
Since starting my apprenticeship my training provider has been very supportive towards both my progress for my organisation and my progress on my qualifications, This support has helped me be successful in my initial exam qualifications I have had to take and also be confident for the exams I will have in the future.
My qualification has helped me greatly when completing work in my role for the organisation as it gives me the opportunity to put what I learn through the training provider in actual work in a full working environment so I can check I can do this and I do fully understand the area I learnt.
During the pandemic it has been hard for me to get involved in most extra curricular activities surrounding my work for the organist ion and my work towards the qualification. However I am apart of a finance apprenticeship network for my organisation which involves organising future potential social events for us.
Yes
It is a qualification that allows you to work towards a qualification while also working for an organisation linked to your qualification while also being able to earn a good salary. Also it helps to be able to put what you learn through the qualification and put it into practicing through working in a work environment.
My first advice would be is think about what you want to do for your career in the future and understand how AAT il help benefit you in your career path and think of the advantages and disadvantages of studying the qualification and research the course you want to do.
