  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained some basic technical knowledge in the area in which I work. I had also built upon my soft skills, interpersonal skills and more. The more advanced technical qualifications have been difficult to gain, due to the technical nature.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Prior to the pandemic, I enjoyed working as part of a team and in an office. Meeting new people on a regular basis. The role is more technical than I initially thought which has at times been challenging. Our training provider has offered an often sub-standard service.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Since a new early careers lead has been appointed, the programme has far greater structure. This new way of running the programme has meant that early careers have better opportunities to build upon their existing skills and develop new ways of thinking in regards to their future.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has offered me lots of support. The wider team have always been happy to help with whatever issues we should face, and encourage questions to be asked along the way.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider offers a reasonable amount of support. However, I am yet to do a module related to my role. The ones that have been related to the role, have been scrapped as not enough learners were due to be taking it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do not feel that it helps me perform better in my day job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. Prior to the pandemic, the early careers community would regularly organise social events. In the current climate, there are ways of socialising with employees also.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Hewlett Packard Enterprise to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • assuming that my friend was looking at a role that would suit them, I would highly recommend HPE. There is a good culture that helps people reach their potential and has great opportunities for your career progression.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hewlett Packard Enterprise?
  • Ensure that the role is what you think it is. When applying for my role, I was lead to believe that there was more consulting than technical work. In reality, my job is 90% technical and 10% consulting.
