I work in the payroll team as a Payroll SME covering the monthly payroll of the UK and Ireland. My role includes some administrative payroll tasks during the month along with providing a supportive role to varying stakeholders. My role also involves a lot of process improvement.
So far during my course I have undertaken 6 Leadership modules, these have provided me with a new skill set and understanding on how to process my career in payroll and to be the best possible leader I can.
I really enjoy my programme. The course allows me to learn the theory in our monthly group sessions, then apply this to my specific role through off the job training and the assignments we are given. I am finding that I already feel more confident in my role.
My programme is very well organised. We have a clear plan of what we will learn in each module and the skills this then links too. We are also provided powerpoints and supporting documents for each module and always have our tutor available if we need her.
I am given a lot of support from Nestle, my line manager, COS manager and my peers are supporting me by not only giving me the time to undertake the course but also in helping me do my hours for my off the job training.
My training provider has made it clear from the start what will be expected of us throughout the course and always makes sure we think about the end exams when completing assignments. Our tutor is also on hand whenever we need her to talk through assignments or skills needed.
I think without this qualification I would not feel comfortable to progress my career further in Payroll. The course will not only improve my payroll knowledge it has also given me a great understanding of the leadership skills required to make the step to payroll manager.
Since Covid the dynamics of the workplace have changed substantially but we are still able to do volunteering with our 2 volunteering days a year.
Yes
Nestlé is such a rewarding company to work for. The company really supports you in not only your role and development but also your life outside of work and balancing the two. It really is a great company to work for.
I would advise that they really take the time to understand Nestlé Vision and Values as these really drive the culture within the company. I think to get the most out of a job here you need to live and breath the culture Nestlé offer.
