  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves working with various staff in different roles which I love! I'm responsible for creating, sourcing and delivering training initiatives for the business as well as supporting staff development through access to qualifications and apprenticeships.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've developed existing skills such as coaching - this is supported by my Professional coaching apprenticeship. I've also gained new skills around procurement, budgets and finances, as well as creation and delivery of training initiatives using alternative methods due to the pandemic. This has challenged and stretched my usual practices

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy the programme as it enables me to network with others in the business that i may not otherwise interact with in a day to day basis. This has been useful to share experiences and offer resolves from my own experiences

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Its very well structured, the provider and employer work in cohesion together to deliver a fully tailored programme which is fit for purpose. My tutor and line manager are amazing!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer, specifically my line manager and department Director. I also have a mentor within the business who sits outside of my immediate team, as an additional layer of support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • So far , its great. Lots of resources available on Teams, the learning portal and via email/phone from my tutor.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • this qualification is vital to being successful in my role because although the content is not entirely new to me, the programme fully embeds the learning and skills in an ordered manor which means I can demonstrate the skills effectively in my role. Its also enabled me to be an advocate for apprenticeships and qualifications

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes - Optivo have a variety of networking and cultural events which run throughout the year available in my immediate team as well as others for anyone in the business. These are well advertised and communicated to everyone in the business via varying means such as social media and internal comms. These can be linked to personal development or just fun:)

  • 9a. Would you recommend Optivo to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Optivo has a strong culture which enables and actively encourages staff to be the best version of themselves. The staff morale is high and is openly and evidently supportive on an individual and organisational level. Everyone is happy to help and support which in turn encourages new members to want to do the same. Exec team staff are also very visible and the CEO meets with all new starters - a rare occurance to make himself known and approachable


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Optivo?
  • Dont hesitate - apply for Optivo! support is offered from initial stages but they continue to support existing staff to develop their skills and knowledge in all roles through various techniques and initiatives, both internal and external.
