I solve first line IT issues for all employees who work for Nestle in the UK and Ireland. This involves answering the phone, sending emails and completing IT tickets. I also administer access and assist new starters in the business by helping them get set up with everything they need.
I have learnt many new skills and developed my existing skills since becoming an apprentice in 2019. I am more confident and have improved my communication skills. Working in a professional environment has really helped me to become more confident when speaking to new people and dealing with complex situations.
I am thoroughly enjoying the apprenticeship that I am completing. I am so pleased to have got the place and have been taking up as many opportunities as possible. There is so much support available and ways to improve. The experience is invaluable and unforgettable. I would recommend an apprenticeship to all school leavers.
My programme is extremely organised. Before I started, Nestle had communicated with the college I was attending to ensure that everything was ready for my start date. My induction plan was detailed and well structured. This enabled me to learn everything I needed to for my job. I am now well trained and confident with all tasks.
At Nestle I receive so much support from my line manager and HR teams. Whenever I am struggling with anything, my line manager is always able to help and guide me in the right direction. If I am ever ill or need to take leave, they are always very understanding.
I receive lots of help from my training provider. My tutor and I book in regular meetings to discuss my work and progress within my apprenticeship. I am starting my End Point Assessment and I have had lots of support to help me prepare for it. This has been incredibly helpful.
I feel that my qualification from the training provider helps me in my role as it lines up very well with my job. I am able to apply everything that I have learnt in my course to my day to day job. With this, I have become more confident and had more knowledge, and therefore I can help others.
I am part of the Nestle Academy Campus Teams. This is where I can meet new apprentices at Nestle and work with them to showcase the opportunities we have at Nestle. I really enjoy being a part of this. I am the Campus Team Captain so I organise many events for students.
Yes
I would recommend Nestle to a friend because the opportunities are incredible. I have 2 years of work experience in a professional work environment at the age of 20. There is so much support available and people want to help you grow and succeed. I am very happy and grateful for this experience.
My advice would be to be yourself, be confident and believe in yourself. You can do anything when you work hard and put your mind to it. Ensure that you have read the job description fully and know what you are applying for. Do not be afraid to share ideas in the group assessment centre.
