My job on a day to day basis involves, speaking to customers, helping them amend their policy, renewing policy and offering break down cover as well as offering home insurance call back for discounted quotes. My job on a day to day basis also involves asking to simple questions about customer’s policies.
Yes, I have learned loads of new skills as well as developing my existing ones. The new skills I have learned are: how to flex to a person’s personality as best as we can, how to help a person when they are upset and how to handle customer’s who raise complaints.
So far I’m enjoying the work side of the apprenticeship but on the other hand the actual apprenticeship part of it where we study is not as enjoyable as it should be as the course is quite hard and the explanation is not too extent as it should be to pass an exam.
As the above the work side of the apprenticeship as organised and structured as it could be but the apprenticeship part of it is barely organised as they do tend to not ask about holidays and if you’re on holiday and there was something scheduled they are not rescheduling it to explain the chapters we’re going through.
I get support from everyone at the company just have to send and email and they get back to me as soon as possible to give you the best support they can. My team leader is always free for questions and answers as soon as possible as accurate as she can explain it.
Well they say their door is always open but when you email to someone who works part time and works only 3 days a week and doesn’t email back as soon as they can is not too helpful but they do try their best and there are supporting apps like RevisionMate we can use.
So far the qualification I studying for is not too much of a help but when it involves talking about motor insurance it does help understanding a little bit more on what’s going on behind the screen and how and what is best for customer. The book we got for course is mostly relating to insurance in general and not motor insurance only which I work in.
We have lots of ways to stay connected with each other. We have group chats set up for the team and we can join loads of groups on Yammer too sort of like if you like dogs you join the dogs liking group (which I’ve done) and we have quiz after work once a month.
Yes
The company is very friendly, diverse and understanding. Everyone at work also friendly and they seem accepting of anyone. Everyone in my team is friendly. They come up with loads of ideas to support their employees, such as doing yammer groups, quiz nights and opportunities within the company to win prizes.
Don’t worry about people accepting you at the company they will accept you regardless of sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, race, etc. This company really looks after their employees so there is nothing to be afraid of if you are looking to join the company and on the plus side of everything the money is great too.
