I am a line manger responsible for 7 members of staff. The team currently deals with a high volume of complex cases, requiring numerous case conferences. My role involves overseeing urgent cases, allocating work and providing advice and guidance to the team as well as both internal and external stakeholders.
During the program I have gained a better understanding of the different learning styles that are available and how they can be utilised in every day life both in work and outside of work. I have also identified how my learning style can effect those around me, positive and negative.
I have enjoyed learning about myself and others. There are topics covered that I would never have thought of before. I have enjoyed learning more about myself and how I can improve as a manager and a leader. I have enjoyed the research into the different topics that are covered.
Very structured. Online site is well set out and easy to follow. Each task flows nicely to the other task. Plenty of time to complete each task and unit. Regular sessions with tutor who has provided extensive extra information and links which has been of great use during the program.
My employer has been a great support in funding this program for me. I have been allowed the time as required in order to concentrate on the work that is required in order to complete the relevant tasks. Further advice is available from my manager if required along the way.
My skills tutor has been of great support. Excellent knowledge of the program and has taken the time to get to know me and my job role. Has provided numerous extra information which has been great support and applicable to current program and tasks. Always available to answer any questions.
I am still at the early stages of the program however I do believe it is helping me to think first before acting to ensure I am acting in the correct manner. Also questioning myself as to why I might do a particular action. And if I can do it differently.
Currently anything extra is on hold due to the current Covid restrictions. Unsure when or how this will change. At present I am working from home and managing my team remotely which I have done for 12 months. Hopefully this will change soon if restrictions start to ease very shortly .
