2nd year Toolmaker apprentice, we are in the plant 4 days a week and with our learning provider 1 day a week. When at plant we are learning skills for die maintenance and gaining experience.
In my second year my hand fitting skills have improved, I have also learnt how to use power tools for hand fitting activities. I have also learnt how to use lifting equipment such as overhead pendant cranes and forklift trucks and gained licenses for both
I really enjoy the program, every day is different and there is always something to be gained from each day
Clear objectives are set out at the start of each placement and get reviewed at the end of each placement to ensure I am developing in accordance with the program
The company provide adequate support however if additional support is required then the company cater to each individuals needs
The company provide as much support as necessary to achieve the qualifications on the programme
Some of the subjects I have learnt about have been really useful and relevant but some subjects haven't been relevant
There are plenty of extra-curricular activities on offer and the company makes it very easy to get involved with however the company also respects your decision if you choose not to get involved
Yes
Overall great company who care for their staff
Be patient, the recruitment process does take a while and there may be times where you're left waiting for the next step. Complete everything to the best of your ability
