My role as Trades Assistant is to make sure the goods that are coming in are booked in properly and make sure they are put away and given to customers if necessary, I also have to pick orders when they come in and put the on the van if they're being delivered or on the collection shelf if the customer is coming to collect.
I've learnt how to cut cable and I have learnt how to do specific things within the company such as the red bag system which is how we transfer money between the company such as cash and how we transport receipts. i have also developed my communication skills and other skills for interacting with people such as listening and speaking and general communication.
I really enjoy my programme it is a great deal of fun and hard work at the same time, the customers are really pleasant and easy to get along with and my fellow colleagues are enjoyable to with work and more often than not good company to be around. so overall its a really good job role.
the programme is really well organised and has great structure, the modules are setup well and they are given to me in good time and completed in good succession. My tutor is also really nice and he is easy to get along with and is very supportive and always a good help.
I receive a great deal of help from my employer, my boss is always willing to help and give guidance and always seizes a teaching opportunity and will always tell you about a product and what it is used for to help develop my knowledge so I can help a customer with what they need.
my training provider always offers me a great amount of support and he always is there for me to email and offer help and guidance on my coursework, he always asks how I'm getting on and how I'm finding it during our meetings and if i need any extra support.
It helps me perform better as it helps me understand the role more and what I need to do. it also helps me learn the correct way to do things and the proper methods I should use. It also helps me understand what other skills i should use and my most important ones that should be developed further.
Our company doesn't offer any as of yet due to current circumstances but we did talk about setting up a 5 aside game of football every week or two. they also offer open days to customers where a bunch of reps from companies come to the store to show there products to the customer and we have a bit of food as well for the customers.
