On a day to day basis, I review claims and deal with any services for the customer or third party depending on our liability stance. I will also investigate liability and chase up any evidence from either our client or the third party which will help me with these investigations.
Yes, from being in my role I have learnt many new skills in terms of communicating with customers directly. In a previous role at another company I worked similar claims however my correspondence was with insurers rather than direct customers. I have also developed in confidence and trust in myself and my own knowledge.
I enjoy the programme as it challenges me on a day to day basis. My apprenticeship work makes me realise how important aspects of my job are in relation to maintaining DPA caution and other factors relating to the FCA. I did the level 2 prior to the level 3 and enjoyed it enough to move to the level 3 upon completion.
My programme is well organised and structured. My trainer fully informs me of when exams are to be completed by and what coursework I will be expected to do in the future of the programme. It is all very well explained and I feel prepared for the future challenges within the programme.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. My employer ensures that I receive 3.5 hours a week of study time so that I can focus on my apprenticeship and getting any work done that I need to, as well as working outside of my working hours to ensure I have all work completed.
My trainer provides me with lots of support. As previously explained, my trainer ensures that I am in the loop with upcoming exam date aims and also coursework targets. My trainer ensures that I am able to go to her with any queries and she replies very quickly with the information that I have requested.
My qualification is helping with my role lots, just as my role is also helping me with the qualification. The apprenticeship is widening my knowledge on different aspects of my role and other roles within the company, along with ensuring that I am fully aware of all legal and regulatory actions that I need to take.
Yes, before covid my workplace held bake sales and other events such as Christmas parties. At the moment, due to COVID my workplace is holding a step challenge to get colleagues out of the house and doing some daily exercise but presenting it as a step challenge so that more people are likely to get involved.
Yes
Direct line is a really good place to work, there are lots of benefits and also a lot of room for personal progression. I am thankful that Direct Line have given me the opportunity to continue on from the Level 2 apprenticeship to the level 3 and have supported me in terms of continuing to allow study time throughout my working week.
When applying to direct line I would just give the advise to be yourself. The company is a very nice place to work and everyone is so friendly and kind to each other, I think it is important to show this within your personality and as silly as it sounds, try not to be too serious! A good personality will go a long way.
