Generate reports and analysis of testing teams plans. Create useful insights into currentprogression of annual plan. Spend time with management walking through the data and explain what the data shows. Highlight areas which require further focus or improvment. Maintin and run monthly and weekly controls for the service and store any required evidences to support completion of this.
I have botth learnt new skills and developed my existing skillset. This happended from the very start of my apprenticeship. My excel, powerpoint and word skills have all been developed from my work and training. I have also developed new skills which i didn't before have such as my risk manager outlook along with my knowledge of complaince within the financial industry.
I very much enjoy my programme, both the level 6 course I am completing and the work I do for the bank. The course is very challenging and new to me which I find very interesting and engaging. The work is also challenging and not repetitive which keeps it very enjoyable.
I would say the the programme is very structured. I have clear days set aside to work through my course and days set aside for working within my role. The course is very specific to the role I do which really helps me to improve my skills for the job. I learn both through the course and "hand on" learning through completing work for the bank.
I receive plenty of support from my employee. I have frequent catch ups with the apprenticeship team to talk about how I am doing and my progression. We spend time speaking about areas in which I need to improve and setting out a detailed and structured plan for how I will develop in these areas.
I receive plenty of support from my training provider. We frequently catch up to talk about the course and how it is going. We spend time talking about my upcoming assignments along with ideas on content to include and how to structure it. If I'm ever struggling or have any questions I can reach out and always receive a quick response.
I think that my external qualification provided by Kaplan greatly helps to better me in my role. The course is very specific to the role I do which helps me to develop skills required to succeed in my role. It also greatly develops my knowledge and understanding of the area I work in.
There are many extra-currcicular activities for me to get involved in. Before COVID-19 outbreak there were activites such as sports teams on campus along with a range of networking events held on site. Since the pandemic and new working from home practices, those extra-curricular activities that had the ability to adapt did, for example netwroking events take place virtually though skype/webex etc.
Yes
I think that Barclays is a great company to work for. The support you are provided is second to none. They help you to do the best you can and succeed in your role. All of the staff within the company are friendly and are happy to help with any issues you have / answer any questions you have.
The biggest piece of advice I would give to anyone applying to Barclays is be confident and also to be yourself. Barclays has such a diverse workforce of many people ranging from people of different cultures, ethniticies, sexualities and much more. The company is very suppportive and inclusive place to work.
