  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme is well structured, offering opportunities to liase with other years and discuss issues or improvements openly. The structure has been defined and implemented over many years but the scheme team are always looking to improve areas, especially now we are all working from home. I am aware of my next steps which is comforting

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider gives us the resources required to reach our qualifications and fulfil our assignments. They are also on and to answer questions and help develop us academically, providing feedback on drafts before the assignments are submitted. The tutors are trying to adapt to different ways of working and keeping us interactive when we are not in the university.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through training I can see clear links between what we are learning and what we are doing. The training has also allowed me to spot errors and improvements in our way of working and I am able to provide substance and information behind this to help the team. It has also allowed me to understand what roles I would feel most comfortable in.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As a company we are very social, with the majority of teams having Christmas parties. For apprentices there is a national apprentice week where there are lots of activities such as a bake sale and sporting events to get the different apprentice groups bonding. • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The support, development and opportunities BAE provide are outstanding. We are able to grow as individuals and have the salary and qualification blend which personally suits me well. BAE has a friendly open environment where here is something to get involved in regardless of your position, which makes me feel wleocme

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • I would say to ensure you have on your application EVERYTHING you can think of. Even if you don't think its relevant, the assessors may see skills within the activities you mentioned. I would also say to not be disheartened if you are not successful straight away. I was on the reserve list and made it onto the course.
