I am a trainee engineer providing internet and telephone service to my local region via the copper network. I deal with customers face to face and work on the network at all points.
I have learnt many new skills including as this is a trainee role and I have learnt a lot about the copper network but also some of the fibre network. I have developed my customer service skills further as each job is different.
I enjoy being hands on and dealing with the customers on a daily basis. I like learning about the network and developing my skills on an ongoing basis.
Very well structured and well run by the person that delivered my apprenticeship. She was supportive and informative about all the various steps required and I would highly recommend this programme.
Lots of support both in the field and via the phone. Always have people on hand and various training available to improve my skills
Lots of support in all aspects of the qualification. We have different modules which all needed an element of guidance and I was never lost in what was needed.
I think the training helps to enforce some of the knowledge you have obtained and also helps to show you a structured approach to some of the daily tasks if we did not know them already.
There are a few things within the team that I can get involved with but nothing like sports or social events at the current time.
Yes
Because it is a well and long established company and it offers various progression and training developments during careers. It is supportive and informative.
Work hard to achieve what is on offer. It is a company you can grow in and develop lots of skills. Listen to the coaching and take in as much as possible from the experienced engineers because it is a complex network and it can be very rewarding.
