My role involves working in different areas and environments on a day to day basis, and facing different challenges . For example listening on the taps and valves in an area to listen for a leak and following up the noises later to see if there is any leak and then will investigate beyond there.
Absolutely , I have gained a great deal of confidence in a work place environment and feel I have come a long way since first joining in September . I learn new skills everyday with different experiences everyday that I come into I pick up things quickly without even knowing that I have
I thoroughly enjoy my role and working within a team in such a varied role everyday and going into different areas and environments everyday with different people . I enjoy the variety my role brings and dealing with different problems each day I enjoy meeting my fellow apprentices at college and applying what I learn in college to a work place environment.
The programme is very well structured and organised it involves 3 weeks of onsite working with a mentor and then 1 week of college learning in the new Severn Trent Water academy in Coventry. I enjoy the structure as I can see the way my work in college applies to a workplace environment .
I receive a lot of support from my employer with regular weekly meeting to talk about my progress and the teams progress over the week and what we have done and achieved. I work closely with my mentor in pairs and this helps me to work the role and gain experience.
