My role involves finding leakage and unaccounted for water across the Severn Trent network using a variety of listening techniques and equipment.
I’ve learnt to use various listening equipment to help locate leakage and how the clean water network is made up and all the assets within required for it to operate.
Very highly. As I’m a person to who prefers to learn out of the class room, the mix between the on the job training and college work suits me perfectly.
Very well, as a company, Severn Trent have brilliant support systems in place to keep you on target.

All the tutors are very knowledgeable and have plenty of experience within leakage and water industry. If I’m uncertain on anything, I know there is an abundance of help there to guide me.
The classroom based work is very relevant to the job aspects. Which reinforces any knowledge I’ve picked up whilst out on the job.
Due to COVID restrictions these have been at a minimum. However, once things open back up there are plenty of team bonding events and activities that will take place.
