Using design software and other data systems to collocate information, which is then used to produce drawings/models. Also, communicating with other teams/trades across the business to produce an end goal - a model and drawing which is then used to manufacture a product to a high standard.

Learnt new skills by working with different design systems, learning about a complex unique product, how its manufactured, how it works and what its used for. As well as developing existing communication skills which enable me to clearly/precisely discuss with colleagues.

The programme is enjoyable as you are constantly learning new skills and working with a unique product that isn't manufactured anywhere else in the UK. Sometimes feel the content of the HNC course isn't relevant to the work you complete daily.

The programme is well structure, we gain experience in various placements that are relevant to your role but also experience placements in other trades/departments which broadens your knowledge on how the product is put together.

There is a lot of support available by the employer. Someone is available to talk to everyday, with any problems/issues that you may be experiencing (whether that be personal or work related). They also offer external support e.g. mental health support.

The training providing lacks in support as you are only studying one day a week. Due to current COVID restrictions it is harder to receive appropriate support with some work.

Although the training provider is teaching some content that is relevant e.g. mechanical principles. There is a larger proportion that isn't relevant and sometimes feels pointless.

There are many extra-curricular activities such as the stem ambassador programme, the BAE Apprentice Council, the National Apprentice council, Bendrigg and more

Research into BAE and the products it manufactures. Be genuine, show what skills you can bring to BAE and how you will contribute into producing the end product safely, effectively and on time.
