My Role is to design the county's nuclear submarines. This includes creating outputs for manufacturing to work from, doing model work such as placing bits of equipment on the boat, or doing change requests where something needs modifying to meet operational requirements.
i have learned lots of new skills and have developed my self in a number of ways thanks to my apprenticeship. Including my confidence, which at BAE they give you lots of opportunities to get involved in a range of projects and programs, including school events.
i thoroughly enjoyed my program, it was varied and interesting. A very good wage with lots of benefits and a great working environment.
The Program was well organised, with a good amount of planning in place for my placements throughout the apprenticeship. Towards the end of the program the structure was lost somewhat, partly due to COVID but also a lack of planning for out end point assessments.
The company provides lots of support, from on the job training to a fantastic employee well being program.
I don't feel there was much support from EAL during my apprenticeship, especially towards the end of it in regards to the end point assessments.
I feel the qualification helps me in performing well within my role, however our area of work is quite specific so there was a lot to learn outside of the qualification.
There are lots of extra activities to get involved in, football teams, outward bound volunteering, school and STEM activities and much more.
Yes
