My role as a designer entails using Computer Aided Design to produce models and also to produce drawings.
Since starting my apprenticeship I have learned how to properly use CAD and also the different aspects of the product that I produce.
I enjoy my programme a lot as I get to learn new things and also meet new people.
My programme is very well organised as I have a fixed college day during the week and attend my work place for all other days Monday to Friday. I get training before I move onto any new team to ensure I can carry out new work.
My employer funds my HNC and all aspects of my apprenticeship. My skills coaches regularly check up on people and there is always a line of contact.
Due to COVID we have been unable to attend college in person and have to do online lessons which is harder so naturally there is less support however the college are making their best efforts to help us pass.
Some of the lessons can be attributed to the behaviours in work such as working in a team which is covered in Business aspects of industrial management.
There is the option to carry out STEM activities which can help you to further yourself within the business by representing it externally. however due to COVID these activities are currently on hold.

BAE is a great place to work and can develop into job for life. The work is also interesting and challenging at times.
Be sure that you are willing to work in a team and can be innovative when problem solving.
