My role is an apprentice heavy vehicle technician. This role involves servicing and maintaining a variety of heavy vehicles.
I have learnt a variety of different skills during my apprenticeship. This ranges from hand skills and tooling to working in teams with colleagues and working to meet targets.
I enjoy my programme a lot as it is so varied that no day is the same.
The programme has a good structure to it. Sometimes in busy periods and it being quite a large environment, it can be harder to maintain the structure.
I receive quite a bit of support from my employer as well as support from different work colleagues.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider whilst working towards my qualifications. I am always pushed to do the best I can and I'm always given advice when needed.
I feel like my qualification helps me to perform in my role not only in the physical side but also helps me to perform as a team and work well with my colleagues.
There currently is not extra curricular activities except a Christmas get together.
Yes
I would recommend Babcock to a friend as there is quite a lot of opportunities for personal and educational development within the company.
Advice I would give to others applying to Babcock is to defiantly apply and enjoy the time working there.
