I manage two 241 pubs in Lancashire. I am responsible for the daily management of the businesses aswell as the marketing plans, team recruitment, progression and development and social media accounts.
I have been able to view my management style in an academic way, and ammend where required to better suit an opportunity or issue. I have so been refreshed on many areas I was once confident in but haven't had to review for extended periods.
I have very much enjoyed my programme. My mentor/assessor is a brilliant lady and has inspired me to push myself further. I enjoy learning and often look for the next challenge.
Very well structured. There are frequent emails and calls to ensure that no meetings or deadlines are missed (even through Covid-19).
My employer has been fantastic. My immediate line manager (AOM) has been very support live, discussing my work and making suggestions for development.
My training provider has been excellent. She has made contact frequently and set realistic targets for me considering my current workloads. She has been there to answer queries promptly and is also extremely knowledgeable.
It is an eye opening qualification. You often do not understands your own degree of knowledge until things are transcribed and documented. It has helped me to identify my areas of weakness and development and highlighted my areas of core strength.
Indeed there is. I am heavily involved in community charity work through the pub and am extremely proud of the opportunities presented and how they have been fulfilled. There is also a Marston’s STRAVA group too!
