  • Full time at college within the first year completing HNC mechanical engineering and learning the practical side of the job as well. We will be at Devonport Dockyard in September with one day at college per week.

  • Learnt how to work mills and lathes in the machine workshop, along with stripping down Diesal engines. In our theory work we have completed exams and assignments on Engineering materials, engineering maths and Computer Aided Design (CAD).

  • I enjoy the variety of the work we do and developing a new skill. Also seeing a clear pathway of progression.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Practice interview skills and gain knowledge about the company. Speak to other people that have already been employed as an apprentice.
