Full time at college within the first year completing HNC mechanical engineering and learning the practical side of the job as well. We will be at Devonport Dockyard in September with one day at college per week.
Learnt how to work mills and lathes in the machine workshop, along with stripping down Diesal engines. In our theory work we have completed exams and assignments on Engineering materials, engineering maths and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
I enjoy the variety of the work we do and developing a new skill. Also seeing a clear pathway of progression.
Developing practical skills but also the theory behind those and achieving a qualification along the way.
