I am a BMA Apprentice which involves working with the business side of BAE Systems. In my current role I work with the Contract Delivery Team. Everyday I work with new people and new teams to create/contribute to projects as well as presenting assignments for my College work.
I have learnt and developed my communicational skills, how to use software's such as Word/PowerPoint/Excel/MS Notes, about stakeholders and what they mean for the company, regulations and policies which I did not know before joining BAE Systems.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship. I enjoy how much I learn and how I can grow in this business with all the opportunities they offer.
Our programme is very organised. We are told way in advance when our sessions will take place, how long they will be and what they will be about.
We get a lot of support from different people including BMA Managers, Skills Coach, Placement Managers and other employees in our Teams as well as other Apprentices.
We get lots of support from them. Each apprentice is assigned a skills coach which help to support them with their assignments, general queries and anything that they need support on.
Our training helps to understand the company on a wider scale. During our college days we learn about the company stakeholders, rules and regulations as well as the company polices. At the start of the apprenticeship we also go through an induction which massively helps when joining the business.
We have the BMA Buzz which is an Apprentice run Magazine, there is also the Apprentice Council, Peer Support Network which gets apprentices together and o base there are also sports and a gym which people can join up to.

There are so many opportunities with BAE Systems. You can travel overseas and visit other cultures while still working. The staff are super supportive and friendly. The training they provide is of a high standard and provides you with lots of knowledge about the company.
Do some background research before joining the company and take as many opportunities as you can.
