On a day to day basis I am required to maintain the flow of product to ensure we reach our product target this can include cleaning as well as taking machines apart to conduct food safety procedures to ensure that food is safe for public consumption and if not safe to recall product
The main skill with this role is team work and patients and this is because it doesn’t always work another key skill I have learnt is communication and this allows me to talk with engineers or other members of staff on what I think can be improved on or what can run smoother
I thoroughly enjoy my role as there is room for progression and also there is more chance to be kept on permanently once I have completed all the necessary qualifications the program itself is very intuitive and can be stressful at times to ensure assignments are in on time but other than that it’s great
The structure of the program is very organised my tutor is always allowing me to progress even if the other apprentices are not ready he does not hold me back and I feel that it’s like clockwork now as we have got into a routine of what happens day to day
As we are the first set of apprentices at my site we are a “test” for say there are areas of communication that can be improved but as far as support I find it in abundance they are always willing to held and are always happy to get there say in assignment work
When working towards my qualifications my training provider is always able to help and they are very patient in the people who may be abit slower to under They reply to emails when they are not on site and always offer help if they feel they can help some more
I feel that basic technical operators know the job and know the role very well but what the qualification does is give me the understanding of why it happens and gives me more of an understanding of the process of how everything works and in the end will allow me to progress higher
This is tricky to say as I started during the covid pandemic but I have been told there are lots of activities and family days available to staff once things get back to normal the bond between me and my team is great and always get involved with everything and makes the experience much more better
Yes
Premier foods has a family based management and loads of different families work there and from that you get a business that is caring and understanding they are supportive and if your willing to work hard then you’ll get progression and make your way up to the top where the pay is good
Try to be open minded and go in with the mentality of progression and the worlds your oyster the best thing to do is work hard and safe this will allow you to progress and make the experience much more enjoyable and there for make you happier to work there
