My role involves maintaining aircraft by doing allocated tasks whilst learning modules that tackle this.
Yes. I have learnt many hand skills during my time and still learning currently. My Knowledge skills have also expanded with the learning of the modules and more such as health and safety.
I am enjoying the programme to a great extent. Despite COVID upsetting the course, I am still enjoying the program and what it brings on.
The programme has a nice straight set course. However, this line was disrupted by COVID but due to tweaking and adjusting by both managers and apprentices, the course was back on track.
I receive a lot of support from the employers. They are always there to help to ensure that at the end of the apprenticeship the end goal is achieved.
A lot of support is received from the provider. They provide the materials for the modules done and the delivery is given by instructors who have had a lot of experience in the field.
I feel that the qualifications received will help with performance within the job role and possibly outside the job too. Learning hand skills and other skills such as health and safety will be used in and out of work.

The aviation industry is an interesting industry to play a role in. For those who are interested in the wider concept and operations I would definitely recommend taking an apprenticeship with them. The support given and the teaching side is good and can not be beaten.
Application with British Airways will be difficult. Ensure to note down any extra curricular activity that you may have. Another advice is to show your passion for the industry and explaining thoroughly why you would be a good candidate for the role.
