I work front of house at the beefeater marshmills in plymouth. I work within the bar team serving drinks to people at the bar but also the restaurant we also take food orders. My aim is to insure good smooth service and ensure all my guests are happy and have all there needs met.
Yes I have become much more confident in this roll and have learnt how to speak to customers. When I first started I wouldn't know what to say or do to or around customers but having worked there for 2 and a half years I have watched my colleges and picked up ways to speak to My customers.
Very much, it will give me the ability to go further in my job and hopefully within whitbread as it is a very good company to work for who Value and look after there staff they paid for this program. Louis my trainer has been amazing and I am really enjoying having him guided me through this corse.
It got a little but ruined due to the covid 19 pandemic but apart from that and having to wait around to be aloud to have one on one meetings again it has been great the online platform is very easy to use and makes the whole experience much easier.
Lots my manager on colleges are very supportive. I also have a colleague who is doing the exact same program as me so if I'm ever stuck and don't want to bother louis I can ask him for help with things and he can ask me which is grea.
Lots again its been harder because of the covid 19 pandemic and not being aloud to have one to one meeting but he's always available if I need help and nothing it to much hassle for him. He is new to this roll but has been amazing so thank you louis.
Lots im learning so much on this programme which really helps me in work so it will definitely help me in the future as I plan on staying and furthering my career in hospitality. I hope to one day be a manager or even own my own pub or restaurant
We go lots of fundraising for Great Orman Street Hospital at the moment our aim of to as a team at beefeater walk a certain amount of miles and raise as much money for the charity as we possible can. We arnt forced to do this but lots of people do
Yes
They really value and look after there staff. For example after this lockdown even with the amount off money whitbread will have lost they are still giving £50-£100 to every member of staff on the app called achivers. On this tlu can be given money and also mention people and tell them somthing good they may have done for the team.
Apply on indeed and have a good positive attitude and you should be fine. Dress smart and show that your ready and willing to learn if needs be. You cant be lazy and you have to be a team player otherwise you won't get alone with the values everyone there has.
