As a control technician apprentice, I carry out maintenance activities in my current placement area, to support production and ensure the machining lines run smoothly. I spend Thursdays at James watt college studying for my degree.
I have learnt how to solve problems in a manufacturing environment and how to find solutions when things go wrong. I have developed skills in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
I am very pleased with the programme.
I think that the programme is well structured at both work and college
My employer supports me fully with regular reviews of my progress.
My training provider also has regular reviews with me.
I feel that my qualification ensures that I am knowledgeable in maintenance and how control systems work, which is very relevant at my place of work.
Due to covid there have not been any extra curricular activities. However there are annual football tournaments and mountain challenges.
