  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I lead a team of Fleet Controllers, supporting them in their roles to maintain a fleet of heavy and light goods vehicles. This includes arranging service appointments, repairs and MOT. As a team we respond to inbound calls from customers requiring breakdown assistance and arrange attendance through our own internal workshops and external vendors. I play a key role in development of our employees, through the internal roadmap system and conducting performance reviews with the team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills, including employee development and team management. I have also been introduced to KPI's and scorecard reporting in my current role. I have furthered on my existing customer service and communication skills within my role, as well as my organisational skills and use of Microsoft applications such as Excel.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although I've new to the programme, I've found the programme to be very approachable and well communicated. I was initially nervous joining my first session but was soon put at ease by the trainer and the rest of the students on the course. I feel well informed and looked after on the programme, and so far I am really enjoying it and it feels applicable to my team and day to day work life.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the programme is really organised. My skills coach is in touch regularly and the sessions are organised in advance so I can arrange them around my usual work calendar. I feel so far that the structure is good and easy to follow, which is essential when trying to fit it around a hectic day job!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • MY employer has been very supportive so far - I've been allowed to take time to get done what I need to, including taking time out for the arranged sessions and to log my progress within the course. My own supervisor has already completed the same course, so she is really helping me to get along and giving me lots of great advice.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Pareto have been in constant contact with me since signing up, which means there is always someone available for me to speak with when I need to. I had to take some time away from work recently which meant I had fallen behind a little - Pareto accommodated my needs brilliantly to get me back on track.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although I have only just begun the course, I have already begun to apply my learning experience from my first session to my day to day role. I feel more confident as a team leader, which is one of my main focusses for the duration of the course. I feel that this is going to continuously improve in the future.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Whilst the current COVID-19 situation has meant that the majority of our social events have been postponed, we still take part in a monthly quiz online. Once everything has begun to return to normal, I'm hoping we will see the return of events such as the Dragon Boat Race!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Enterprise Mobility to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Enterprise is really committed to developing people from all backgrounds. The environment is open and friendly, and the team are professional and approachable. The career opportunities are vast and the support is always there when you need it. I like the range of roles there are within the company, and there is always a selection of training on offer to suit individual needs.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility?
  • Be honest, confident and be yourself. This is a job where you will always be on the go, so it's important to be focussed. There is lots to learn and this will take time, however the onboarding process is great and will get you into it in no time. You will need great communication skills, and be able to tackle sometimes challenging conversations with customers. The interview is example based, so come in prepared with examples of times when you have really performed well in a previous role/setting.
