In my role as a business management apprentice I vary in what I am doing day to day. I work in teams on business projects for different parts of the business whilst also working on my own personal assignment some days. This brings the feeling of excitement and something new everyday.
I have learnt a wide variety of new skills on my apprenticeship. I have learnt how to work with new individuals and create presentations with them, I have learnt how to use different tools and formulas on Excel. I have also learnt how to set up, present and participate in front of different people in meetings.
I enjoy my programme very much as everyday brings something new. Each day I am experiencing something completely different with different people. This brings the enjoyment for each day as I am participating in new tasks with new people each day. I'm also enjoying working with fellow apprentices local and further away.
My apprenticeship is extremely well organised and structured. This is because with the software I am granted I am able to view my meetings in advance, plan my meetings in advance, set up my meetings and more. This is how well organised and structured my apprenticeship is. I can also organise it myself with email folders that I can set up and use.
I receive lots of support from my employer. I have catch up meetings and one to one meetings with my employer. My employer has also recommended I set up meetings with fellow apprentices and have catch up calls with them. This enables me to get support from more than one source.
I receive lots of support. My training provider is always asking how I am and keeping up to date with what I am doing and if there is anything I am struggling with. They are also very open about helping me when I contact them needing help and will always take time out their day to help.
I feel it helps me to perform better in my role as a whole as it is helping me to learn the company on a wider scale. For example I am now more aware of BAE Systems stakeholders and I know more information about them and their effect on the business. This is all due to learning this from my training provider.
There are enrichment opportunities that are offered to me as an apprentice that I can get myself involved in. Some examples of enrichment opportunities are Apprenticeship Council and Apprenticeship Magazine. Apprenticeship council is where you can work with other apprentices around the business and work on tasks affecting apprentices. The apprenticeship magazine is a magazine which apprentices create to spread information on a wider source.
Yes
I would recommend BAE Systems to a friend because this apprenticeship is very successful for anyone undertake. It enables me to be set up in a professional manor by giving me appropriate training and appropriate tasks to work on. This gets me ready for the future as I can build my knowledge set now. It also is a very nice and warming place to work as everyone is there to help you if you need it.
Tips I would give to people applying at BAE Systems is not be afraid or nervous to speak up and ask questions, everyone is welcoming and loves people getting involved and asking questions. Another tip is not to be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand. once again people are willing to help you out don't understand and will go the extra mile to send you resources and make sure you are understanding it.
