Running a pub/restaurant with overall responsibility of financials, team, customer service, hygiene legislation, stock control, advertising & marketing.
Learnt a lot more of the theories involved in team motivation, business strategy and planning and I have enhanced my skills in customer service, managing change, risk management and contingency planning
I have thoroughly enjoyed my learning experience, the webinars and skills days have given me the opportunity to interact with others on the same qualification while enhancing my knowledge
To be honest the organisation has been a bit hit and miss due to changes in tutor and covid 19 issues but these have been unavoidable.
I initially got fantastic support from my Area manager and the apprentice team at HO although I had not had much of an opportunity to discuss my progress in the latter part of my course due to Covid lockdowns
I have had 3 tutors during my course, my first was really helpful in motivating me and directing me towards the things I didn't know I knew. I didn't really see the second due to lockdown and the gap in learning but when returning my last tutor has been fantastic at helping me box off any gaps in my learning and giving me some structure.
The qualification has helped me to better understand what motivates individuals, how to provide the best experience for my team, It has helped me plan for the future through progression within the team. I also understand more about contingency planning within the business and how to manage changes within the pub.
Not that I am aware of.
Yes
I have worked for the company for over 10 years and they have supported me through some great times and some challenging times. If you need help there is always someone to offer advice or support. There is also room for progression and expansion of knowledge.
Be yourself, research the company, understand the opportunities that are there for you and bring your own ideas for the business. Talk to your co workers, customers and business network, but overall make sure you enjoy your work which will make it more enjoyable for others.
