  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work doing governance at NatWest, we are currently working from home so I usually have a zoom meeting with my line manager in the morning and I get set task to do through out the day or have other meetings to shadow others. I also now do the monthly FLOD Testing of the folders.

  • Yes, I hadn't worked in this type of job before so I have learnt new skills such as using the Microsoft packages, how to use email system, zoom meetings, how to make helpful notes and also how to use many different systems such as adobe analytics. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme as there is different tasks each day as different things always pop up so I don't spend each day doing the same. I have found I enjoy doing data input tasks and I have been given a few of those to keep doing. I also enjoy working with my team as they are helpful and friendly.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think my programme is well structured as I have already got all my dates to meet with my provider and I know what assignments I need to have done by each set date which is helpful. I have also found that the programme puts on lots of events to help gain better knowledge and to help you achieve.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get a lot of support from my employer, I don't feel like I cant ask questions or that I should know everything straight away! My manager is friendly and is patient in showing me how to do things and I have also found having an apprentice buddy is good to just chat about his experience and for any guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider Babington, have been great! Lisa my apprenticeship leader is helpful and is always quick to assess any work you have done.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like my apprenticeship will give me all the help I will need to be able to help me in my role. Having only recently started I have a lot to learn but what I have done already such as a time management task has helped me to plan my work better and to a good standard.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Working from home and being in the pandemic has probably altered this a bit but there are lots a networking events you can attend and our team arranges some activities to do on zoom such as quizzes or games for the team to get involved in.

  • 9a. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Having only worked here a short time, I already feel comfortable in my team and that I feel if I have any issues someone will be able to help me. NatWest helps the employees to achieve there best by setting up various events to gain a better knowledge. They also have helped in providing help in getting set up for working at home.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • I would say that when applying for this job take the time to look into the company and learn about the CPC's as they are very important and will help you be better at your role. Also to make the effort to attend all on boarding and further meeting as they are helpful and give you lots of important information you will need. Finally to go to anything you get invited to as there are lots of interesting things going on in all areas of the bank!
