My role requires me to support the Relationship Managers in the region. This involves attending customer meetings and taking the notes. Creating records, completing tasks and communicating with other areas in the business to ensure tasks are completed. I chase required documents from companies and make sure these are saved correctly so they can be found and used as needed.
I am in the middle of completing the Chartered Banking Institute Certificate that is provided by the course. This will come in handy for roles in the future. On top of that the apprenticeship helps me develop skills such as resilience, team work, communication and more that'll help me excel in all future roles.
It s a wonderful programme with great support from both the team and the coach provided by the apprenticeship provider. There is always a new task to be doing that provides me with insight into how a Relationship Manager works and what the job involves. Having joined with no banking experience, i have learned a lot in a short space of time.
The structure is very well organized. the providers have a great online site to outline the areas to focus on with lots of materials to use to study and integrate the new skills into our daily roles. The learning plan is detailed as helpful to see where you stand and where to go next.
I received lots of support from my employer. They are always there to help when I'm confused with tasks or just general knowledge. Its never too much for the team and they're always on hand to support me. They understand that studies are involved and allow me enough time to complete these.
There is so much support from the training provider. We have a 6 weekly check in with our coach but they are also on hand at all times to support us if we have any queries. Although, everything is outlined so well on the online platform that the additional support isn't always required.
The skills developed in my apprenticeship help in both my role and my day-to-day life. I have began improving skills such as communication, flexibility, resilience and teamwork. All of these and the others in the course help me provide the best customer service in role but also help me improve my professionalism in outside of work.
There are always plenty of networking events to attend along with lots of webinar and live discussions to enter about many things including inclusion and diversity, climate change and even session to improve your knowledge in and around the role. With COVID, a lot of events cant happen but these are due to start again once were back to normal.
Yes
The interview process was so organized and the process of joining the team hasn't been daunting at all. They are all so welcoming and ready to help me. It is obvious I have a lot less knowledge than my team but that's never a problem for them. It's such a positive place to work.
Do your research first. Look at the ethos and the big things that the company do to make a change with climate change and inclusion and all the other aspects they are really striving for. Bring these into conversation and show that you are open to learn and experience new things.
