In my Job Control role, I am currently doing order management and making sure that orders are on the right path. I am making sure that ptw forms are sent out and signed, calling customers to confirm appointment dates and escalating orders that havent had any updates for a while etc.
I have learnt customer service skills, being understanding and friendly while talking to customers. I have also developed more confidence skills when it comes to talking to others as I am working with a variety of new people, different backgrounds and age groups.
I do enjoy doing stuff with my team and doing something different every 3 months, but I also think it would be nice if we could do things that we also enjoy as individuals that would allow us to progress further into different parts of the industry.
It is quite structured as we do a different job role every 3 months which ensures us that we can gain new skills while working around the business. Might need to ask a few more questions about what's going on near the end of our apprenticeship though.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer. They're understanding and make sure that you do really well within your apprenticeship.
I also receive a good amount of support from my training provider as well. If I need any clarity over something related to my assignments etc, they are able to advise me on what I would need to do next.
My qualification through my training provider helps me to perform better in my role as there are topics such as continuous improvement which would help me in my role that I had never heard about before. I think doing assignments on things like this or just doing the training courses are very helpful.
Because of covid, this hasn't been possible. But I'm hoping when everything eases, we would be able to. We only had one livestream chat but that was about all.
Yes
They give good training plans which are helpful and useful throughout your apprenticeship journey, and are usually quite relevant to the work you are doing as well.
Make sure to complete everything to a good standard and make sure that you go through things that you might not understand fully as well.
