My role is to support assistant relationship managers and relationship managers with day to day tasks to ensure customer needs are satisfied. I prepare meetings, gather information that may be useful for the RM's to use in business meetings. Assist customer with queries and processes. Using the knowledge and information around me to complete these tasks.
I have learnt a lot in the short time I have taken the role (25th Jan 2021). I have been getting to grips with lots of different bank systems to enable me to pull information relevant tot he tasks I'm trying to complete. I have also used no bank systems I have never used before to merge and create PDF docs of customers financials.
I haven't as of yet started the apprenticeship side of the role yet as is due to commence this month. The course its self from what I've been told by coaches at BPP looks very interesting and i am looking forward to completing work and learning relevant to the role I have recently taken.
The programme its self looks very well structured and platforms such as the 'HUB' look like an easy place to access all information and work required to complete so no messing around having to go to a million places to see what work you're suppose to be completing. I have had multiple meetings and phone calls pre course starting so I'm well prepared.
A lot of support is given from my employer and management, I have already been told I will be given a day a week to complete any apprenticeship related work. I also have a fantastic team that will always offer support and guidance and answer any questions I have with no hesitation.
As I have stated I haven't actually started my apprenticeship course yet. I have been informed by BPP that i will be having 6 weekly check ins, therefore I will always have an opportunity to ask questions or concerns. Also my coach from BPP has already offered for me to call her if i have any questions or worries etc., so feel very supported.
The qualification once completed will give me the opportunity to progress in my career, and open many more doors if wanting to take other roles etc. As an assistant it will help me perform better in this role as after completing training I will have a better understanding of customer relationship managing and the financial sector in general.
There are loads of extra-curricular activities that the bank offers, face to face events at the moment aren't going ahead because of obvious reasons. Although a lot of coffee morning chats on zoom are offered, webinars about climate and how we can make a difference are there to be used. We also get the chance to use some of our time to do charity work in the local community.

I think Natwest are a great company to work for and this is backed up by the fact i have been a NatWest employee for 5-6 years now, joined as soon as I left college and haven't looked back. I have managed to do several different jobs roles in my time and they will always look to progress you.
Take all opportunities given to you by the company as they offer a lot but its down to you to apply yourself and look to improve yourself. Take your best of yourself to work and ensure you work hard and you will achieve with Natwest and enable you to be successful.
