Complete tax returns, correspond with HMRC, speak with clients via email or telephone, work in a close knit team, as part of an extended team.
I have learnt a vast amount. Not only technicle knowledge but also I have developed myself and I have seen what my strengths and weaknesses are. I am yet to achieve my professional qualification but I am working towards it. My business 'know how' has developed greatly.
I enjoy the learning aspect of this programme. I have a great team and get on very well with most which I feel improves the working environment greatly. With regards to the company culture, I am still trying to figure this one out...I am not sure if the corporate culture is right for me. I do enjoy aspect of the programme however in regards to the diploma I do not feel it is of great benefit to me.
I think certain individuals are better at showing their appreciation than others. My manager and some people within the team are great at making you feel valued. However I feel that PwC on a whole expects an exceptional amount from people. Those who do not know how to say no will burn out very quicklly in this environment.
I do not have much to base this on but I would say that it is okay, could be better but could also be worse.
Vast amount of support.
Again, vast amount of support is available when needed.
The salary is extremely hard to live off. If you have rent/mortgage to pay plus a car and other bills to pay you will not be able to live off this salary.
Yes there are a lot of events organised outside of work. PwC loves a good social and networking event.
Yes
Yes and no. Yes - if you want to develop yourself to an extremely high level and achieve professional qualifications. Use PwC for what it can do for your career. No - as it is not somewhere that fits my personality but I am making the most of this opportunity and keep thinking of what it can do for me.
Make sure you research all options available to you. I am doing this programme after having gone to university. Do not rule university out, it was the best years of my life and I would 100% push everyone to give university a go as this programme will still be here once you have finished!
