My role stretches across two departments. I look after a team of account managers within a sales team and a marketing team. My day-to-day responsibilities in both departments include generating sales and contributing to the company's overall target whilst creating marketing strategies to support the sales function and the wider company.
I have learnt a lot from my tutor Zoe who has lead me through different processes involved in managing a team which have helped me implement these within my day-to-day role. I also feel more confident in the work that i am doing and feel stronger in my capability to do these things.
I enjoy my programme thoroughly as it is directly linked to my role within my company. I enjoy having 1:1 support from my tutor that i wouldn't necessarily receive through other means of further education. I enjoy putting into practice what my tutor has taught me and she also encourages me to make my own views.
I attend monthly and sometimes more frequent sessions with my tutor where we go through theories directly related to the course that I will need for my assessments. I have a clear outline of what is expected of me and i feel that the course is very well structured in terms of delivery.
I have been with my organisation for over 3 years, i have received a lot of support from my employer throughout the duration of my time here. It was my line manager who suggested i take on this course for my own personal development. The company have been very supportive.
As per question four, i receive a lot of support from my training provider. They are on hand if i need to discuss anything in regards to the workload and have accommodated a break in learning whilst my role had become very busy which has helped with stress levels and made me want to continue.
Throughout the course, i have learnt things that are directly related to my role. Such as, how to carry out appraisals etc. My tutor is keen to hear about my experiences so that she can intertwine those with the course content. It is very beneficial to some of the daily tasks involved with my role.
Before COVID-19, i attended regular networking events. Our organisation also holds summer camps for athletics, football and basketball which are very popular. It is great as you get to be involved with a lot of other things the organisation do. I am hoping that this year we can get back to normal.
