My job on a daily basis is providing guests with excellent service. welcoming them into the buisness , taking drink and food orders and making sure they feel comfortable and appreciated throughout their visit. to ensure repeat buisness. keeping the reastaurant clean and tidy adhereing to health and safty regulations and keeping things legal.
I have learnt the differences between different wine and how to pair them with different foods. Also learnt how the buisness is structured and why. I am more confident in my knowledge of the different service style that can be used in different parts of the buisness and when it is appropriate to use them.
At first i found the program quite difficult as it was all computer based but after changing my trainer at lifetime to [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] I found it much better and enjoyed doing the learning as it gives a different insight into various parts of the hospitality industry. I feel the program is up to date and engaging.
Very well all meetings are sent in an email to your calander. the different sections are clearly headed and discribed with a check your knowledge section at the end so you can check you have taken it all in . you are given a timeline at the very begining so you know what you are working towards and what pace you should be aiming for.
as we have been in lock down due to covid for most of my apprentiship I have been impressed with the support i have recieved if i had any questions or found something difficult to get my head round i felt comfortable getting in touch with both my in house senior team and my lifetime trainer.
My trainer has been fantastic. Whenever I have been unsure about how to approach something or if i havent interpreted a question right she has explained it in an illiminating way. Also if I had any questions i could send an email or facetime and get any help i needed.
I think having a better understanding of how things work makes me better at my job because i understand better why we do things the way we do and what impact it has on the buisness as a whole and to the environment aswell. the better the knowledge the better the performance.
