My role consists of financial reporting and managing financial for a portfolio of projects. I am a management accountant who deals with budgeting, forecasting etc.
Yes I have developed soft skills whilst having to liaise with commercial, finance and external contractors. I have also applied IFRS throughout my work and used various softwares such as excel and SAP to improve software skills.
It is in the defence industry which is very complex and challenging but I don’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
It’s quite structured but when it comes to handling and managing my exams it is up to me. I have regular Quartey meeting with my tutor and manager which helps keep me on track.
They allow me 3 days off for each exam
A lot of support. I have been impressed by their speed to return and answer my questions when I was stuck. They are always willing to help.
I understand a lot more technical things within the financial statements and helps me improve overall as an accountant, especially the management aspect.

It is well paid and are quite flexible.
Have commercial awareness about what is going on and their competitiors. Have a bit of accounting background or at least read up on it
