I am working within the professional services team, in corporate and commercial banking. I join lots of customer calls with businesses that we look after. These calls include: getting an overview of how the business is doing financially and generally, and provided business with financial support.
I joined this team without any prior banking experience. So, over the last few months, I have learnt huge amounts about banking (including loans, overdrafts, reading bank statements, cash flow forecasts ect). My confidence when speaking on the phone to customers has also improved.
I am really enjoying this programme. It is enhancing my customer advisor skills, which I can take to my day to day role when dealing with many customer enquires. My confidence with overall banking has also improved.
My programme is well organised. At the start of our programme, we were given a detailed time table with dates and deadlines of what sessions we needed to attend and also handing work in. My coach that I was assigned to, is able to answer any questions that I have.
I receive all the support that I need. Whenever I get stuck with a task or am unsure how to complete something, there is always someone that is willing to go through the process with me.
My main point of contact is my coach. My coach is available for me to contact whenever I need the help, so we receive as much support as we need to succeed.
My qualification allows me to enhance my skills in order to perform the best during my day to day role. My course is about customer advisory. My day job involved a lot of customer contact, so this really helps.
Yes. During my first 3 months working for NatWest, I got involved in the CPC Partnership. This allows me to be a mentor to someone else and also get mentored myself. This extra activities allows for networking, and gaining confidence speaking to a wider audience .

Since I joined NatWest, after leaving sixth form, I have been supported the whole way. I have got a forever growing network and feel like I am developing so quickly!
Make sure you don't turn down any opportunities. Take on as many tasks given within the team (even if you have to ask lots of questions!). Put yourself out there, to come across confident and willing to work hard.
