Management Account creations, bookkeeping, EOY accounts, data manipulation, accruals, bank reconciliations, prepayments, studying, on the job training
I've been taught alot more about Accounting in general. My boss teaches me everything he knows about accounting, explaining theories/ concepts and how certain things work in the work place. I've never had a position before where I learn so much!
I've just started the Kaplan Course and I'm really enjoying the Live Online aspect. The teachers answer questions throughout the online lesson and actually try to explain what the calculations/ theories mean.
My programme is very well organised. The only issue I had was where I didn't realise the online lessons change occasionally what evenings they are on. I think there should be an email reminder/ text to students just to remind them their lessons are changing.
My employer is always offering new areas of accounting to learn in relation to VAT/ Management Accounts/ EOY accounts or just the different ledgers in general. He also encourages me to ask questions whenever I'm unsure about tasks/ a clients accounts.
I feel Kaplan could maybe encourage their students more in relation to outside of the classroom. Perhaps even sending emails relevant to the exam you are currenrly studying, perhaps videos/ articles/ or maybe what else you need to study online for your exam. This could help motivate apprentices to keep on top of their studies.
The training helps with client queries that may come up that I wouldn't have necessarily been able to answer beforehand.
Not yet, we are a very new company. We tried to go to the pub last year but covid restrictions have prevented that. We have company meetings and appraisals which I like :)
