I am a receptionist at Dyson Perrins school. I answer the phones, provide support for staff and students, as well as providing first aid services.
I have learnt first aid skills thanks to my apprenticeship, as well as better communication skills that help me to socialise with those I work with.
I really enjoy being able to work in different departments around the school thanks to my apprenticeship and finding out how everything runs.
My programme is quite organised, I always have work to complete and there is always new areas for me to explore should I desire to do so.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. Everyone here has had an impact on my apprenticeship in a positive sense and I always have someone to turn to should I need support.
My training provider is supportive with my course work. I constantly get feedback on my work to help me improve as well as having my tutor on the end of the phone should I need her support.
My qualification helps me to understand how our systems work and the best ways to communicate things with those I work with and with parents/students.
There aren’t specific things like this available due to working at a school, however we do have social times when we all gather to catch up.
Yes
I would recommend Dyson Perrins because they are a lovely team to work with and provide so much support for both staff and students
To be confident in yourself, to ask for help when you need it and to get involved in as much as possible as it helps to build relationships with those around you.
