Providing personal care to our service users on a daily basis, wether this is a bath or shower. Assisting with any help they may need, serving there food and fluids regularly. To support them emotionally. Following all health and safety precautions whilst on shifts and wearing PPE at all times,
I have learnt a lot since starting work in the health care profession, but since starting the course it have given me a better insight of what all the policies and acts in health and social care actually stand for and how they can benefit people and how important it is to abide by them
When I began the course I actually thought I knew a lot about what the course would entail and it would be about the day to day health and safety of our services users, but it’s actually a lot more than just that and how important the different acts and policies are
I found the programme is very well organised and structured and full of plenty of information, I just find it is taking long to complete due to covid limitations and not being able to attend the aspirations centre for my final exam, but this is nothing that can be helped with this pandemic
My employer are very helpful and supportive whilst I’m trying to complete this qualification and they are keeping me updated on when I can attend the test centre for my final exam. They are also in regular contact with my assessor to see how I’m progressing
My training provider is very supportive through out the course and also replies to any communication that I’ve sent her. We also have regular zoom calls to see if I need any help or support with the course
After learning about all the different policies and acts, helps you see more if a service user needs help and signs that you can look out for when they don’t want to talk, also triggers you can look out for when a service user might turn violent
There are plenty of activities that you can join in with the service users such as bingo, quiz’s, skittles, gardening. But due to covid a lot of the activities are limited
Yes
They are very supportive and encourage you to do well. They also try and make the course fun so it don’t turn boring by doing quiz’s which is good as you actually get to see what you have learnt
