Operations large pieces of machinery, being a health and safety champion at all times and adhering to all good manufacturing practices, I also worked on some total performance management projects and did data collection for a large scale project in a Kitkat manufacturing plant. I have been trained in logistics and materials co-ordinating for aero bars and can now run the chocolate manufacturing plant. I would also do quality assurance checks keeping to high standard at all times and also helped out when indicting the new apprentices.
Yes, I have learnt skills in tempering Chocolate and how to manage quality incidents and escalation processes. I have learnt skills in how to manage the materials needed to fulfil a production order and manage change overs of flavours and or products I also developed skills in food safety and gained an extra food and health and safety qualification on top of my apprenticeship provided by nestle.
I enjoyed it a lot. I got plenty of time off the job for course work and training I also got extra courses at no expense to me and trained using electric pallet trucks and opportunities to work on projects and work within many different departments. I had a really good experience.
On nestles part it was well organised Howe er sometimes the training provider was not. Kirklees were hit and miss with tutors as we had a lot of different ones. But nestle were always happy and prepared for my block weeks away at college and accommodation was always organised well too at no hassle to myself.
I received adequate support with both apprentice and personal situations. And I was always given more than enough time to complete work and get involved with jobs or work in area where I needed experience my team mates were also really receptive with training me too and writing statements for me.
In the beginning not much however the last tutor we had to see us through end point assessment was good.
It helps a lot and gives deeper understanding into the reasons and origins of lean working and other methods used throughout the factory. Not only for production but business understanding too.
Yes, the apprentice road shows and open evenings also pride events and mental health well being workshops.
Yes
I had a great experience.
It’s a lengthy process going through application and interview but stick with it because it is worth it and you 100% get out of it what you put in! I have come out with a fantastic job and an expansive skill set.
