My role is working with delivery staff to ensure that we train our apprentices to a high standard. This involves creating top quality curriculums and monitoring the delivery of these to ensure they meet our learners requirements training them to the highest standard possible. This also involves training the delivery staff to maintain and raise standards continually.
I am continually learning in my role. This is vital as things change rapidly. We complete mandatory training around key areas and specialist training in line with our job role. I am currently undertaking a level 5 learning and development course where I have learnt about current research around how people learn and how technology has changed this. This has been very current with Covid affecting how our company deliver.
I am really enjoying my programme although its been challenging at times, getting back into assignment writing I think it can only benefit my own practice. I have particularly enjoyed a project that I completed abut providing a learning intervention within my company. This has also benefitted the team as we are all completing the qualification together and supporting each other.
The programme is well structured. At the start we received a timeline of when teaching sessions would be delivered and when work was due to be in. In between teaching sessions we have our 1-1's with our trainer to look at progress and receive individual support. We are supported with valuable resources and provided with study time during work hours.
My employer is very supportive by allowing time to complete research and assignments in work time. We have also had some individual sessions with our line managers around aspects that we needed more information on to support us to understand better and apply this to our research and assignment work.
My training provider provides ongoing and regular support with group sessions as well as individual planned sessions and further sessions as and when I need further guidance. My work is checked ongoing and I receive valuable feedback on how I can develop the work or that it has met the requirements.
Completing this course as really benefitted my day to day job role. It has made me look at how I support the people that I work with and how I can change my practice to meet individual needs better. In particular it has changed how I deliver training to the people that I work with in line with current theory and developing interventions,
I am currently involved in working with a group of colleagues from across the company to develop our social values. This has involved us all getting together and discussing our ideas and then networking with other people to implement. We are also as a company working together to raise funds for the charity MIND. We are currently making our way around the world by logging how many miles we travel to raise money.
