I help out other teams with technology and Security, I have a weekly job that I need to do and monthly to do with pro active defence however on a day to day basis it is extremely interesting as it is never the same always changing what needs to be done
I have learnt There’s a huge volume of free tutorials, apps and resources to take advantage of too, so mastering the art of helping yourself to advance and become way more technical is a key skill that you could take into any other job or workplace and being pro active
I enjoy it a lot because although covid has occurred I have found a good workpattern that suits me I feel that when I was in the office it was a lot better however we have to deal with what we have currently and move forward the role is flexible which is what I like
The induction was great as well as the training provider QA which I personally have I think that the courses are great and Barclays support your studying a lot and the mentors take it very seriously to support you thoroughly the programme is well organised as well as the teams hierarchy
I recieve a lot of support from my employer and my team which consists of 4 people currently, the general attitude amongst all the teams and people you've never spoke to will still offer support to you, the mentors available are vast in what you do people are happy to help you
I recieve daily updates on any work I do and feel that my training provider mentor is a great person and I like to work with him I enjoy doing the training however the exams are long but as are all exams I suppose the general attitude is very positive
I feel that my qualification especially helps as there is so many software's I need to learn and different I.T skills that I need to be aware of however on the contrast I can easily do free training to support myself also in the role so its not a deal breaker honestly
Due to covid there aren't currently however when I was in the office I actively played football on my lunch which was good as the astro turf is a 5 side pitch there is also a gym there which I am going to use when I go back soon
Yes
It is a great work enviroment to be in and I feel that anyone can thrive they have support for people from all walks of life, there is a strict no discrimation policy that reflect the barclays values that all employees adhere to throughout my time at barclays I've never seen it
Definitely be yourself if you pretend to be too loud or to take charge it might come off as your not a good team worker, as Barclays is one big team I would say that you need to have good communication skills to work with different people and to have patience
