my role involves overseeing trades and making sure they execute and no technical errors occur. i also report trades on our platform to the regulator and set up new companies to our platform so customers can deal in their shares.
Yes i have developed understandings of more technical applications. i have developed excel knowledge and also my general confidence when working with other teams and presenting in meetings
the programme offers really good support throughout. not only do we get a paid for qualification but we get a tutor and lessons alongside. i also enjoyed apprenticeship days where we went to our london office to develop different skills e.g. navigating our careers
the programme is very organised. we have plenty of time to pass our exams, they start you off after a couple months of joining to allow time to adjust. it is mostly your responsibility on how fast you want to get through the exams and the actual apprenticeship assessment.
I have had a lot of support from fidelity. after completing my exams early they were also happy to pay for further exams so they obviously value you as an important asset in the future
it was good in terms of exam support in the apprenticeship assessment. However Kaplan don't offer mocks or lessons for the 3rd IOC exam which seemed lazy, there are a lot of options it felt like they didn't want to invest in the time to cover them all.
in terms of my specific role, lots of the things i learnt in my exam were relevant and have definitely helped my understanding and knowledge of financial operations
yes fidelity offer a wide range of activities. i have been lucky enough to attend a TEDx talk and it was really interesting and a great day out. i have also been to career fairs which helped my confidence
Yes
they are very supportive in terms of apprentices. in general it is a very friendly atmosphere, i have reached out to people i have never met for overviews and they are always happy to help.
i recommend showing your personality off as that has always been a common theme when meeting people here as majority of people are super friendly. take advantaged of the qualifications as the support from learning providers is super helpful and funded by FIL.
