I am responsible for making sure that members of pension schemes have been paid correctly, and prepare retirement quote to those who want to retire. I also do day to day administration by making sure that our records are up to date. I also ensure the the scheme have got enough money to pay the benefits
I've learn many useful business skills from preparing emails to meeting clients, learned how to use spreadsheets and read them, maths skills improve a lot as also English skills. I also developed my communication skills. Paying attention to details, learning about not only pension legislation but about what impact the pensio industry
The experience overall was good. But there some aspects that were not very pleasant such preparing the knowledge statement. Some aspects of the apprenticeship were not very clear. But the experience in itself was worth it. Everyone in the company made feel at home and they were there to help me out whenever I needed
Overall the programmed was well structured. We as apprentices kind of knew what was expected from us. There were some technical issues but nothing major. The training provider was excellent along with anyone in the company who got involved the apprenticeship. Plenty of time given for study, the team was very understanding
100% support, it was very very helpful. I don't really have much to say about it as I am very pleased very the support given to me through out this journey. Starting from my team members up to the local apprenticeship rep, everyone has been always available and willing to help me to progress in my journey
My training provider was outstanding, always pushing me to be at my best, even when I was having my down moments, my training provider was there to ensure that I wasn't alone and that I am capable to achieve great things in my apprenticeship. I really enjoyed it and I also learn new things
My qualifications helps to be exposed to a more complex side of my job role. It has helped me to expand my knowledge about the industry. Up to now I use my notes from that I used to completed the apprenticeship. I've been putting to practice what I've learned
I get myself involved extra curricular activities, mainly football. The company has a football team that plays for an amateur league in Leeds. I have also been in company's get together events socialising with others colleagues. I have also participated in the apprenticeship fair in Leeds representing my company
Yes
Because Barnett-Waddingham knows how to treat their employees and is always looking for their best interests. Also, the working environment is very pleasant as every is very respectful and they all mind their own business allowing me to focus at my work. Plus the dress code is quite relaxed within the normal standards
To anyone who wants to join Barnett Waddingham, I advice them to be willing to work and learn as this is a great opportunity to expand skills and knowledge. Dedication is a must, taking ownership of what they do. Good humour is key to enjoy good days at work. Attention to detail and be ready to work under pressure when needed
