I help professional services and financial services clients place their policies with insurers. I answer client queries and also broke these policies therefore i am contact with insurers. I also deal with the admin side of the renewal whereby i create the invoices as well as produce reports and other compliance documents.
Yes, i have learnt lots whilst being at Aon. I have developed my confidence within my role but also within the industry. I have also developed my social skills as you are always in communication with lots of different people. Further to this i have also developed my writing skills as my emails and correspondence has become more professional.
The programme is very good, overall i believe it is a great starting step for anyone wanting to join this industry. You are given lots of exposure to insurance, lots of responsibility, lots of help and lots of guidance. The exams and coursework is well positioned over the year and half course.
The apprenticeship is very well strucutured. Over the time i have been here i have never felt too bombareded with work. The work experience side of things is very good, you get exposed to lots and this is done in a well organised mannor. The exams and coursework is also given at a good pace which helps.
At work, i receive a good amiunt of support. I am quite an independant worker and therefore would rather get on with stuff however at the start of my job, my team was really helpful and supported me with learning the job, exams and helped out with coursework. The wider teams are also very helpful!
I receive as much support that i ask for. If i have ever asked any questions to the training provider, they will also try to help me out and if they are not sure will come back to me. They also provide lots of support with the coursework side of things which has proved to really help me.
The qualification helps a lot as it is very relevant to the industry i work in. So far i have completed 3 exams which are pratically an introduction to intermediaries, insurers and claims. These text book and online learning side have provided me with so much knowledge which i can see and use when working for my actual job.
Yes, there are lots of social networking events which happened prior to covid. These were really good and helped you gain a wider understanding of the company i work for as well as build on your social skills. My team also try to meet up as much as possible as we work quite closely and get on very well.
Yes
Aon is very inclusive company who welcome anyone in. They are a great employer who puts their employees first. The expierence i have gained from this apprenticeship is invaluable and the support i have received has helped guide me in to a postion where i can help out all my colleagues.
Prepare well for the assessment day. This is quite a pressurising day but as long as you can show how you can work as a team as well as communicate you will be fine. Also you will need to brush up for the interview, and basically sell yourself. The onboarding experience is very good and the apprenticeship team have put a lot of time and effort in to introducing the apprentices to Aon.
