I am based in the People Services team, on a day to day basis myself and my colleague look after everything absences, including Maternity, Paternity, sick leave etc. On top of looking after absences I look after the Apprenticeship levy, I make sure all the payments are correct, chase providers if they haven't taken payments or if they have taken too much and also forecast to project how much money we are taking out each month.
When I started Sage I struggled with my confidence within the workplace, I went from in the first couple of months not picking up the phone to queries to leading phone interviews daily. I received coaching from my colleagues and line managers to improve my confidence, this really has helped me on my journey with Sage.
I really enjoy the apprenticeship programme, I always knew I wanted to study business at college. Whilst I was at college the modules that really stood out for me was Human Resources. The apprenticeship programme at Sage was the best decision I made, I have gained so much knowledge on my journey as a People Apprentice.
I have completed one apprenticeship which was a HR Support Level 3, this wasn't the most organised program as it was a third party provider however, I gained a lot of knowledge and I passed my apprenticeship. I am now doing my HR Consultant Partner Level 5, I am really enjoying this, this is a lot more organised than my first.
I receive plenty of support from my employer, I really feel as though Sage really care about their employees. I believe that Sage provide so many opportunities to grow and develop within their time at Sage. I have weekly one to one's with my line manager and my team and manager are always there if I have any queries etc.
With my first qualification I got some support but I think this could of been improved. Once I changed providers for my Level 5 the support I receive is totally up to scratch. If I ever have a query I always get a quick response, I also have at least one 1-1 per month.
I believe both of my apprenticeships have given me knowledge not just within the teams I have been apart of but in HR as a whole. I have been in more specialist teams within my time at Sage for example, Talent and Early Careers therefore, learning about general Human Resources really interests me and it has helped me perform better in my new role in People Services.
I am part of the Sage Belong Champions team which is where we all get together and talk about Diversity and Inclusion, we ensure we try and make Sage as equal as possible. We also make sure to promote different events that go on in the D&I world for example, Pride at Sage, health and wellbeing month etc.
Yes
I would recommend Sage to a friend as I really enjoy working for Sage, I believe all of the employees are very friendly. Sage encourages all employees to grow and develop within and outside of their work life. Sage also has a very positive and diverse culture and I look forward to coming into work.
The best tip/advice I can give you is to be yourself and be honest for what you want out of the apprenticeship. If you are honest about why you would like the job and where you would like to grow and develop Sage will help you achieve your goal.
