I prep filling equipment for filling syringes, this involves sterilizing all in individual components in hot water, then drying then down with an air hose (reducing the amount you touch the cleaned item) and then transporting the components to the autoclave where they are heated up to over 129 degrees making sure all bacteria is killed.
The main parts I have learned is the affects of not cleaning properly and the repercussions of not following the standard operating procedures. By not following these standards we have a huge risk of dealing harm to the consumer or even worse death. To prevent this from happening I follow the cleaning procedure for all the jobs I complete.
I have really enjoyed the exposure in my work environment, the people who I have shown me to job role I'm in, the different events I have been able to take part in, the new friends I have made and how welcoming the full course has been under GSK.
With events, places we need to be and other apprenticeship events the structed has been brilliant. I'm always up to date, invited to observe talks and people are always able to help me with any issues I have. However some parts I felt I have been kept in the dark
I have always been given full support with both areas I have worked in and the managers have always been spot on with me. I always get the help I need to succeed, extra support and if they don't know the answer they will go out their way to find it which I really appreciate.
I have felt the support for the HNC qualification has not been there when I have asked for clarification on some of the assignments resulting in me asking for help from pears. Other issues even involve tutors falling asleep on teams calls, questions in the assignments making zero sense, being told to buy and download software that we do not have to our disposal and ridiculous time slots to hand assignments back in. This does not apply to all tutors as some have been really patient and understanding. However the first year of teaching I cold not fault it and going from that to this I have seen a huge drop in teaching.
My role in GSK is a manufacture and being put on a engineering course has been a struggle. There has been partial bits in the qualification that relate to my role but not as much as I would have expected. However I do feel like it could benefit me in the long run.
Plenty, we have done Dofe, quiz nights, Christmas parties, career fairs, drop in sessions, career talks the list goes on. We get plenty of exposer to all the things Glaxo has to offer and the time they put in to help us or take time out of their day to show is really feels like you are growing with this huge family.
Yes
Amazing possibilities, loads of exposure to different job roles within the company, the people that work here are a great laugh and GSK offers you a career with a highly competitive wage. It is a joy to work here and I would recommend anyone to come work here, lovely place.
Be yourself and make sure you ask the questions you want to know the answers to, this will then let you know if you really want the role you are applying for. Also notes where you'd like to make key points and show what you can add to GSK are advised.
