My day to day role consists of working on audit engagements for Financial Service based firms. This includes planning, execution & completion stages of an audit. Often I will be engaged in client discussions.
I have learnt a vast range of skills that are useful in the accountancy/finance industry whilst studying towards my ACA as well as from practical work experience. I have improved my communication/presentation skills from communicating with external clients but also colleagues from different backgrounds.
It has been challenging and very demanding at times - particularly balancing work commitments with study as well as trying to keep a social life.
Overall, there is a clear structure to my programme which is well designed. There is good corroboration between my employer and the training provider.
My employer provides me with study leave to support my apprenticeship. My colleagues have also been very helpful in providing tips and tricks form their past experience.
We get provided with paid study leave and college courses to help with studying towards our qualifications.
The qualification is very specific to my industry of work and has helped me improve my technical knowledge and in doing so improved the quality of service I provide to my clients,
